Twas the day after Christmas...
When all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for Herbert von Karajan, who I can hear eating in the laundry room. The oven is self-cleaning and releasing that bizarre, awful odor of chemicals. Dad is errand-running, Mom is preparing for the baby shower tomorrow. Mike is reading/studying, and Abby up in the bedroom sleeping. I'm on my 2nd coffee of the day, a french press brew of a Starbucks blend. It has been a lazy morning today - up at 10, big breakfast of leftovers, some really bad guitar playing (on my part) with Mike and some harmony singing with Mike and Dad. Now it's time to BLOG!!
The cat was incredibly irritating last night I should tell all you people out there, waiting on my every word. He wakes at some ungodly hour, I feed him, then he's just up and ready for fun and shenanigans. Normally this isn't a problem when I'm on normal working hours, but when it's vacation it just isn't fun. Look at me, blogging about my cat. The end.

Late December, Belgian Days
Tis the 23rd of December and all was quiet in the house - except the blaring TV downstairs of course. The good news is it has been an all Belgian beer day (Affligem Noel, Maredsous 8 Dubbel, and St. Bernardus Tripel). Glorious!
The season of Christmas is in full swing: family, stress, traveling (or in my case, lack of traveling), general indolence, traffic, last-minute shopping. I'm procrastinating the wrapping of ALL gifts until the last minute. I do not enjoy wrapping at all. It's tedious and falls into the same category as making the bed, only worse (I do actually make the bed every day however).
I digress....
I've been reading Jay Friedman's website over the last few days and have really enjoyed the tips on articulation. I recommend these articles for everyone. The idea of a drawbridge I find particularly helpful - as well as the idea that it is all chin and up. Read "Abracadabra" and you'll know what I'm talking about:
